The Grange du Causse solar park
The Grange du Causse solar park is located on fallow land in the department of Hérault, South of France. Equipped with 30,000 PV ground-mounted panels, the plant is expected to generate around 23 GWh of electricity annually. As illustrated above, the plots will mainly be maintained through sheep grazing.
Corporate Power Purchase Agreement: ensuring budget certainty and green energy
The energy produced by will be sold under a 20-year fixed-price Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) to the food service provider METRO France. The output generated will cover around 20%of the offtaker’s annual power needs.
More and more organisations, like METRO France, are opting for corporate PPAs to achieve energy budget certainty and meet their corporate social responsibility objectives. However, setting up a CPPA is a complex process requiring expertise and deep market knowledge. Several consulting companies, such as 3E, have therefore specialised in this field and provide advice to organisations considering this increasingly popular type of electricity contract.
